What Causes Sudden Pain From The Hips To The Knees?

I get sudden onset pain from my hip down to my knee after sitting on the endg of a bed or chair. I can feel the tendon move and snap right above the knee. I can t bare weight or move leg without excruciating pain this lasts for an average of 2 hours. Tried heat, ice, a hot shower. The only thing that seems to help is a muscle relaxer and keeping it completely still but this still takes several hours to get any better and is still sore the next day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
You need to do MRI for spine. The compression or fracture of any vertebre can cause any nerve root leading similar type of pain. Is the pain very localised you are describing?
