What Causes Sudden Pain From The Left Ring Finger To The Shoulder?

On left hand, sudden pain from the ring finger through elbow into shoulder only for a few brief seconds, but has happened about ten times in the last thirty minutes. No shortness of breath or chest pains. Arm feels weak at times, but not severely. thought about stroke; can smile, and no loss of memory. any idea?

It may just be a temporary neuralgia due to nerve root irritation.
Do you also have pain in neck?
I would recommend an over the counter pain killer like acetaminophen.
Warm compresses to neck and shoulder.
If you feel any serious symptoms like the ones you mentioned like complete paralysis, paralysis of facial muscles, hearing or vision problems, visit the ER immediately.
