Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Pain In Hip Radiating Into Abdomen And Knees?
I m sick as a dog. Every night starting by 1:00am, my hip(s), depending on which side I m on, are excruciatingly painful; pillow between knees doesn t help. Nocturnal and morning abdominal pain are worse; last night intense abdominal swelling and nausea - could palpate veins on the abdomen. All foods are causing problems. GI tract on fire from start to finish, and impacts respiration and causes dizziness. Cervical and lumbar stenosis and disc problems may contribute. Take Valium and Temazepam, but keep awakening approx every 2 hours in horrific pain. What do I do?
As per my clinical experience, sudden pain in hip radiating to abdomen and knees may be in concern with atherosclerosis involving major vessels of the concerned territories. However, a detailed history, physical examination, X-ray of the hip with pelvis and knee joints are mandatory to evaluate the case and guide accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
