What Causes Sudden Partial Hearing Loss And Fluttering Feeling In One Ear?

I have lost 50 percent of my hearing over night in one ear . It has been over a year and has not returned. I now have a sense of fluttering in my ear . To make matters worse I am deaf in my other ear due to a cholesteatoma . Have you ever heard of a person losing their hearing so suddenly and what is the fluttering sound.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Visit an ENT doctor as soon as possible. Loosing hearing suddenly overnight may be coming only in trauma. You should get evaluated by ENT doctor and he should find the cause of loosing hearing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
