What Causes Sudden Radiating Back Spasms While Standing, Breathing Or Resting?

I am having sudden back spasms. It radiates when standing, breathing, sitting and even lying down. There was no injury that occurred. I am the typical guy and don t want to make a 911 call or wake up any friends to catch a ride to the hospital and am trying to ride this out but it is real tough at the moment. Never mind. I was unaware I had to pay for insight.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have serum electrolytes, B12 and folic acid levels tested alongside D3, calcium and potassium levels.

It can be due to essential micronutrients deficiencies or muscle stiffening. Using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxants like tizanidine or orphenadrine may be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
