What Causes Sudden Rise In Urea And Creatinine Level?
Hi, My father s urea and creatinine levels have shot beyond the normal limits in the past one month. Following are the test results : Dec 13. April 14. June 14 Sugar.(F).(mg/dl) 106. 90 Sugar(PP)(mg/dl). 139. 208 Urea(mg/dl). 38. 58. 93 Creatinine(mg/dl). 1 1.9 3.2 What could be the cause for this sudden rise? Is it possible to bring down just by medicines? Am very worried with this sudden rise and blind as to what to do next.please guide. Regards, P.Puratchiyalan
Hello dear Understand your concern I think its look like acute kidney damage/failure. Most common cause in your cause may be high blood sugar level. Other cause may be infective glomerulonephritis, hypertension, stone & tumor of urinary tract, liver disease, heart disease, drugs like steroid and analgesic, autoimmune disorder. I would like to suggest following tests: urinary sodium, liver profile, USG abdomen, glycated haemoglobin, urine routine and microscopic, proper drug history.
