Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Severe Dizziness, Nausea And Increased Heart Rate In Child?
I have a five yr old girl who has all of a sudden today developed very dizzy head to the point we had to leave the pool. She then complained about very nauseous stomach. My scare is the heart rate is JUMPING OUT OF HER CHEST. I know she is scared but I mean it is faster than that.......she said my heart hurts HELP
As per my clinical experience, the nausea in child following panic is very obvious from raised secretions of adrenaline and other stress hormones. My recommendations as below: - Take her to home with due explanation - Give her liquids in sessions in form of oral rehydration salt, coconut water - Syrup Ondansetron if nausea is persistent - Allow her to sleep for a couple of hours
Measure pulse rate after a period of sleep and then consult back online for further guidelines if needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
