Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I ve had minor pain and discomfort for several years in one small area above my naval. The doctor put me on an antacid for three months with no improvement. Getting somewhat worse. I leaned over at the waist recently and came up quickly which caused an excruciating tearing pain for about 20 seconds across my upper abdomen. Today I sneezed and felt a sharp pain there, almost like a muscle spasm. I ve had two ultrasounds but nothing was found. Any ides? Thank you, Kathy
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sudden sharp pain in upper abdomen . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like kidney infection or stone , pancreatitis , IBS , indigestion or angina . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test along with ultrasound and endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe ornidazole , laxative , omeprazole along with anaspas . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist in case or angina . For now eat light and non spicy . Apply warm compresses on abdomen .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
