What Causes Sudden Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Hip?

Hi.....I randomly get a sharp stabbing - like pain under my left hip. It only lasts a few seconds, but it kind of takes my breath away. It doesn t hurt if I press on that area though. It has been happening for the past 2 days.....more today than other days. Hmmm?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to Arthritis.

A hip affected by inflammatory arthritis will feel painful and stiff.

So, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

I recommend using anti-inflammatory cream such as Voltaren cream.

I also recommend using ice compresses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
