What Causes Sudden Shortness Of Breath During Sleep?
Hello doc, I am suddenly having a suffocation problem not so smooth breathing .. I have never had this problem before in this 28 years , I was driving continues for 8 hours empty stomach and reached my destination and had little heavy food and slept soon after that after an hour sleep and I woke up and started sweating and suffocation occurred . I was feeling fine while walking outside but was not able to sleep or sit . Can you please advice . I have no reported health issues till date.
As per your query you have sudden shortness of breath during sleep . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably occur due to two reasons :-
I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may order sleep study test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may recommend you CPAP machine to correct sleeping apnea . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist if he/she find problem to be related with acid reflux . For now do not eat spicy and healthy food specially at night and do not sleep in straight posture , try to sleep with face on one or other side .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
