What Causes Sudden Simultaneous Hiccups And Belches Followed By A Fainting Spell?

I recently went on a dinner date with my wife, after our meal we was talking and all of a sudden I hiccuped and belged at the same time. Afterwards I became light headed and the room darkened then passed out. I had a hiatal hernia fixed this past September, also have a shazkis ring. Is there any idea what may have caused this?

As you told earlier that you had a hiatus hernia which you got repaired in September and Schatzki's ring. Do you have Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)? Ask your surgeon who treated you.

Please mention what did you have for the dinner? The hiccup you had might have been due to the spicy food/ alcohol drink. The spicy food can created oesophagitis in those who have Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

Did you vomit? the light headedness may be due to the electrolyte imbalance following vomiting.

I advise you visit the surgeon who treated your hiatus hernia. Follow the advice of the surgeon.
