Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Sporadic Weakness In The Hands?
I have sporadic sudden weakness in one or both upper arms, sometimes extending farther down even to my hands. I can sense it coming on; it only lasts 45 secs, maybe a minute. No tingling, no activity seems to bring it on. Has occurred 3 or times since the first of the year.
After going through your query I understand your concern.
I would like to tell you that feeling of electric shock or burning sensation running down the arm or weakness in arms and hands can be due to compressed or stretched nerves of brachial plexus. These symptoms last for few seconds or a minute. Generally nerves that have only been stretched may recover without any treatment or only physiotherapy can help
Kindly consult with a physician if your symptoms persist.
Hope to have been helpful.
Kind Regards Dr. Navneet Bansal
