General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. I understand your concern. The swelling of the wrists seem to be due over strain to the joint/muscle/tendons or ligaments of the wrist joint.trauma to blood capilaries there has caused the blue dicoloration You need to give rest to the part (no movements use an elastic bandage ),cold pack &pain pill like Ibuprophen twice a day after food.over the counter can be taken . Consult your physician &get x ray done( if swelling & pain does not reduce in few hours),to exclude any injury to bone or joint... followed by specific needful treatment advised. Thanks.
