My husband, 63 white overweight male is experiencing swollen feet and ankles recently. He is on his feet 3 hours a day at his security job at school. Very sedentary rest of the day and night. He Does smoke and drink daily.( for many years) He Does use a lot of salt on his food. His meds are lisperol for high blood pressure( for years) and also recently started using testosterone cream for libido. ( last two months). Please advise. thank you
Hello and thank you for your question. There are many causes for his swelling. It could be the salt or problems with his liver or kidneys. It could be that the vessels in his legs are not working to return the blood to the heart effectively (vascular insufficiency). He really needs to see his doctor to determine the cause. Stopping the salt and alcohol would be very helpful to his long term health. Regards
