What Causes Sudden Swelling Of Vein Leading To Pain On Kneecap?
there is a vein which runs diagonally across my kneecap from top to bottom. No trauma. It has suddenly become swollen, hot and painful to touch as well as walk. Any ideas. I have previously had bypass surgery (almost 8 years) and am concerned with a clot in the leg.

Please stop moving your limb. Take anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen over the counter. Apply gently (do not massage) Thrombophobe ointment on the vein. Seek consultation of a physician at the earliest. Early management would help you out.
