What Causes Sudden Uncontrollable Coughing And Breathlessness In Child?
Hello. My 9 year old daughter recently started coughing in the middle of the night uncontrollably. Then, she seems like she is having a hard time breathing and her eyes look scared like she is gasping for air. Then, she coughs and sometime she throws up because, she is trying to clear her airway. She is not sick, no fever, no mucus. This has been happening in the evenings when she sleeps only.

I really appreciate your concern, such symptoms of cough could be due to some allergic condition and it is very common in this age, try some pure honey prior to bed, encourage her for drinking water, else this is nothing to worry it may take some time to come around but later or sooner it will be fine, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
