Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Weight Loss And Muscle Twitching?
I am experiencing irritation, not able to eat or sleep well, have lost weight recently. my finger keeps twiching and I am having a hard time walking. These symptoms are not normal for me. I am concerned because my mother died from an unknown disease when I was young.
I would suggest you to get a full thyroid profile as soon as possible. Sudden weight loss, irritability, muscle twitching points towards increased thyroid hormones in the blood. You might be suffering from hyperthyroidism. We can look into other causes if the thyroid profile comes as normal. And do not worry much as hyperthyroidism can be treated effectively. Even if it is not hyperthyroidism, please be calm and commit jump into any conclusion about your illness just because your mother died of unknown reason. Let the investigations be done first and then effective treatment be initiated. All the best buddy. Thanks for contacting healthcaremagic.
