Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Weight Loss And Pain In The Arms?
I have recently had an unexpected drop in my weight, from 97 to 86 pounds. I am 20 years old and 5 3. I have been very irritable lately and I m not sure the reason for my mood swings. I have been getting random sharp pains and random tingling and numbness in my limbs. I keep feeling extremely full even if I had not eaten but once I am hungry I m extremely hungry as if I hadn t eaten in days. I also have very bad random nausea and fatigue. I m not sure what s wrong.
It might be advisable to have some blood tests like: CBC and ERS (rule out anemia), TSH (rule out thyroid problems). If these tests are normal than anxiety or depression can be a possible cause especially due to weight changes, appetite changes, mood swings, and numbness and tingling which are common in these conditions.
If you use any drugs or alcohol these can be a possible cause as well.To conclude i would say:Please make sure you see your doctor, have the tests done to rule out the physical conditions as the cause of your symptoms and discuss the need for treatment for anxiety or depression if all the examinations are normal.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
