Hello,

The possible causes are
1. Metformin itself causes weight loss.
2. CKD patients may develop waste products in the blood lead to nausea and decreased appetite which may cause weight loss.
3. Neuroendocrine tumors also cause weight loss.
4. Malignancy or chronic disease may cause weight loss.

So until the examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

So please get it done a bone scan, kidney function tests and ECG.

CKD patients may develop anemia may cause loss of appetite and weight loss.

But you have to consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
