Need help, doctors have no answers for my brothers weight loss. He is 48 and has been going down hill for years. Hes 6'1" and is down to 98 pounds. They have checked for cancer, graves disease and thyroid issues but all have come back normal. Please there has got to be some Doc out there that knows something thats being over looked. I dont want to lose my brother because I left some stones unturned.
So common causes has to be ruled out by history and examination ...
Here cancer, thyroid problem has been ruled out ...
Also check for tuberculosis , HIV , Chronic infection , Anemia , chronic liver problem etc...
Investigate with .... 1.CBC 2.Chest x ray and mantoux test if needed 3.Liver profile 4.ELISA for HIV 5.CRP etc..
If after extensive work up and examination no cause found than it could be nutritional .... So for that proper diet taken along with avoidance of smoking and alcohol if have habit ...
Take care
Advise: Consult physician for examination
