What Causes Sudden Weight Loss?

last year, i stopped breastfeeding my 4th child and within 201/2 months, 38 lbs were lost. i eat normal sometimes too much at night, and am currently still losing weight. thyroid test came back normal. i am on seroquel, low dose for anxiety, but no diabetes. do have "episodes" of not feeling normal, but nothing wrong. have had ovarian cysts, on birth control to treat, but no cancer "symptoms" that have alerted my doc.. no one can figure out what is wrong. i need help

Hello and thank you for your question. We are always concerned about cancer when there is sudden unexplained weight loss. I am glad that you are not having any cancer symptoms and that your thyroid tests are normal. Part of this has to do with where you body weight is. If your body weight has fallen below normal then your doctor may need to start doing some tests such as mammogram and CT scans to look for a hidden cancer. Seeing a nutritionist may also be helpful to your.
