Welcome and thank you for asking.

The symptoms you prescribed may be due to thyroid cancer but it must be confirmed with biopsy of the nodule.

Not every thyroid nodule is cancer. The fact that you have been exposed for a long time to radiation and the presence of hoarseness and lymph nodes, are suggestive for a prompt biopsy.

If malignancy is confirmed than total thyroidectomy with lymph node dissection is performed.

Radioiodine therapy is very efficient in treating thyroid cancer after total thryoidectomy.

Hope i was clear and do not hesitate to ask if you have further queries.
Wish you good health.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
