Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore throat on and off for over two weeks It is a bit inflamed I don t have my tonsils. I am also experiencing sore eyes at the back of my eyes. I feel lethargic and the last two nights I have sweated very heavily in bed. Two nights ago when i got up to the toilet I felt faint and sick .
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sweating, sore eyes and sore throat which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water. You should avoid smoking completely as it is exaggerating your symptoms. Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
