Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sweat has been smelling sweet for quite some time. I have had cancer in the past, have recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroid and have been having a lot of muscle symptoms as well like spasms and twitches. My blood sugars are normal and so is my dip UA. Any thoughts on what to check?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Sweet smelling sweat occurs in ketosis or ketoacidosis. The conditions that you have mentioned- cancer or hyperthyroidism are not associated with sweet smelling sweat thus, probably these are not causes of sweet smelling sweat. Thus, I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and relevant investigations like estimation of ketone bodies in blood and urine.
HI Well come to HCM Sweat smelling and the disease that have had been are least concern with this because this is not the sign of any disease, drink more water eat more vegetables, use good quality de-odorant, take care.
