What Causes Swelling Above The Eye Lid After A Brain Tumor Operation?
Hi, My sister just had a brain tumor operation couple of days ago and had a non-enhancing lesion measuring 48 x 40 x 36 mm removed from right frontal lobe. This morning we have noticed her right eyelid and the area above is heavily swollen. We asked a doctor and he said it is normal. Can you please advise why this has happened.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is true that swelling of surrounding tissue occurs often after brain surgery. That happens because of the blood under the skin around the wound and trauma of the skin and subcutaneous tissue from the procedure. The problem disappears often after 2 to 3 weeks. Hope this answers your question.
