Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past couple of years I have noticed that when I get home from work, which has always required standing for 8+ hours per day and constantly moving, I have one or two small, painful swellings in my groin area, where the groin meets the leg. Does this sound normal, or should I have my primary care physician take a look?
Hi, I really appreciate your concerns about the problem you are facing. As a physician I would like to suggest you that you may be facing problem of Hernia. In your work circumstances the pressure exerted by daily 8 hours of standing work might be aggravating the situation further. According to the symptoms you are telling, The Hernia might have been in primary stages, so I would Highly recommend you to Visit your Surgeon as soon as possible to Examine the Swellings. Also meanwhile, I would like you to take break during your 8 hour shift to sit for 5-10 minutes and then continue your work. Avoid lifting heavy weights. Hope I have answered your queries satisfactorily. Feel free to ask any other queries. Have a nice day
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
