What Causes Swelling Along With Pain Behind The Heel?
Hello Doctor, I had a swelling and pain behind heel. I visited doctor and he diagnosed it to be Retrocancaneal Burtis. Doctor suggested me some physcio exercise and couple of medicine (Carnisure 500 and Ace-proxyvon cr). My question is, what could be the cause of this problem and what do i need to do to make sure it does not come again? Thank you. Regards Akeel
Hello Akeel, Thanks for your post on HealthcareMagic. I carefully read your query and understand your point of concern.
Retrocalcaneal bursitis is an inflammatory condition, Usually it occur in association with other joint problem. Sometimes it occurs following trauma and malposition of heel for long time.
You can use low heel shoes or sleeper to avoid local trauma which prevent this condition. Use cold compression which reduce the pain. Keep elevation of the leg which will help to reduce swelling.
If this condition occur again despite of local trauma you should go to a rheumatologist for diagnosis of any rheumatological problem if you have.
I think it will help you. If need to further query about this don't hesitate, I will be happy to give your answer. Wish your good health. Regards Dr. Atiqul
