What Causes Swelling And Brruising On The Feet After An Injury?
I got 7 stitches in my skin area from a big piece of glass falling on my legs. No broken bones or glass in cut. After the stitches got put in I followed the aftercare instructions. Now 5 days later, my foot is still swollen and bruised. Almost feels like there is a jelly like substance under the swelling. Almost like a streset balloon. Nothing really hurts. It s this normal?
Hello, If you have been properly taking care of the wound and if antibiotics were described to you and you did take them properly, then there is nothing to worry about. just squeeze the wound a little and see if there is any pus collected under the wound. Besides, keeping the wound clean is the care you need to take. In case you get fever despite the care and measures you have been taking, you need to see a doctor because he will either prescribe you different antibiotics and/or see if there is any collection present underneath the wound. The stitches should be removed after 7-10 days provided you are not diabetic or the wound has not got closed properly due to other reasons. For now, just dont worry about it, take proper aseptic measures keeping the wound clean. Thank you
