What Causes Swelling And Bruising Around The Tailbone?
Hi my tailbone area above my but crack is purple and slightly swelled. I havent had any recent injurys . But i did fracture my tailbone about 11 years ago and it hurts like my sciatic nerve is pinched . I was just curious as how this is happening and what i can do to fix it
Based on your description, it appears that you could be having lesion similar to 'pilonidal sinus'. It might have been inflamed or infected, which could have caused swelling and bruising of the region. You have to undergo clinical evaluation by consulting Surgeon. Based on the findings, it could be decided weather it can be treated by anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medication or would require surgical intervention.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further. All the best.
