My mom was in a car accident last week and she hit her leg on the dashboard of the car. This happened last week and the swelling and bruising in her leg gets even worse by the day. There is no healing whatsoever. She can t feel part of her leg and is in a lot of pain and soarness. Is this normal? What s going on???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Patient, you haven't sad which part of her leg (upper/ lower, Knee, Hip?),

but generally it is so: if there is some numness in feeling and continouus swelling there needs to be a clinical examination wetehr she has a large haematoma that needs specifich treatment or even if she might have a frature. This needs to be ruled out by a doctor nearby.

If that is ruled out then you should know that bruises can rake several weeks to heal.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
