Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swollen foot with black bruising due to being fallen on ice seems to be due to traumatic
injury to the soft tissues leading to ruptured blood vessels and causing accumulation of blood into the soft tissues and it is the cause for bruising and there is also
hematoma formation..
Hematoma is a harmless tumor like mass formed due to spillage of blood from ruptured blood vessels leading to accumulation of blood into the soft tissues forming a lump..
Secondly burning sensation is due to injury to terminal
nerve endings and pain is due to inflammation of soft tissues..
In case if you are able to put weight over the foot and walk then the chances of bony
fracture are less..
As of now you should do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump..
Apply
Heparin gel as it help in faster disintegration of the hematoma..
You can apply numbing gel if there is pain..
Elevate your feet while lying down..
Do less exertion..
In case if it worsen consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
