Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling And Bruising On The Eyebrow After An Injury?
I hit my head hard on my left eyebrow,5days ago and it was really swollen and it is bruised m whole eye.. I have been taking Tylenol for the pain..But it s not helping much,, I have a severe headache...It hurts worse when I am up doing things, and I am very nauseous.what should I do.
To reduce the swelling you will have to take analgesics like Naproxen/ Combiflam, one sos when pain & apply a cold compress to feel better. Stay away from stress & prefer to relax in a dimly lighted room.
Bruising & black eye go away on their own. If the severe headache is not getting reduced, you need to get yourself physically examined to rule out any type of developing Glaucoma & to rule out any vision problem.
You may need antibiotics & other medications. You can apply Geneticin eye drop, 2-3 drops twice daily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
