What Causes Swelling And Bruising On The Toe?

My big toe and part of my foot is swollen and has black bruising in and around the joints also spreading bruising and kind of duskiness of the skin spreading onto my foot. There was no trauma My rfoot is swollen as well. There is some aching and sometimes burning sensation. went to the ER yesterday and they say I have cellulitis. I am not sure about that diagnosis. What could be wrong?

Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic.
If there was no trauma then it may be ischemia of toe or celulitis especially if you have diabetes. You need to do xrays and lab tests and if there are signs of inflammation,you should have antibiotic treatment and immobilization.
