What Causes Swelling And Burning Sensation In The Eyes And Face?

I woke up this morning with my eyes swollen shut and under my eyes swollen as well and it won t seem to go away, and then i got in the shower about 30 minutes ago and as soon as the water hit my face it started burning really bad and my face swelled up even more

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms to swelling of eyes along with swelling and burning of face can be due to allergic reaction that can be due to any food or medication while other causes can be any toxic bug bite, poison ivy etc..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

The tests will help in ruling out the exact cause of the allergen and once you know the cause of the allergic reaction you can avid exposure to it to prevent allergy attack..

He can be advised to take anti allergics like benadryl along with steroid nasal sprays to relieve the symptoms..
In case of recurring exposure to allergen you can also be instilled an Immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity and frequency of allergic attack..
