What Causes Swelling And Burning Sensation On The Lips?

My lips have been burning and swollen for a few weeks. I cannot detect any allergy. I have treated for bacteria, fungus, and virus (Areva), have died to detect ingredients in lip stuff like beeswax/pollen and no relief. Today only using 100% vaseline, first time I tried this. Its the only symptom. I have tried to eliminate foods but nothing obvious. After intense swelling they peel. Only brief times since November of no symptoms. Red and swelling is beyond lip edge about an inch. Pretty healthy otherwise. I have been in two very different environments with same symptoms (Minnesota rural and Hawaii).

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are suggestive of conditions like angioedema.

As a first line management you can take antihistamines like pheneramine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
