What Causes Swelling And Discolouration Of Fingers Despite Using Levofloxacin?

I have a swollen finger. It has turned blue and puffy looks like pus inside. Saw a doctor was a MD PA could not help my finger solution. He did give me levofloxacin 500mg and meloxicam 15mg. It still hurt, swollen and discolored. It is my 2nd day taken meds. each once daily.

If there is pus inside then the infection would not resolve completely unless the affected area is incised and drained.

Incision and drainage is the definitive treatment for an abscess (collection of pus).

This is a minor in office procedure and is done along with the use of medication.
