What Causes Swelling And Gurgling Sound Under The Right Rib Cage?

I have a gurgling right under my rib cage but its more to the bottom end towards the side. It just happened and I have never had this before. it s not necessarily painful but uncomfortable. I notice myself a little swollen right under the right side of the rib cage. What could it be?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Gurgling sound under the rib cage is most probably due to sounds produced in the stomach.
Gurgling sounds are normal in stomach and are caused due to mixing of air with water.
The right side underneath the rib cage is the place where liver lies.
Feeling of swelling on right side can be due to enlargement of liver.
Enlargement of liver is usually painful.
I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment and ultrasound of the abdomen.
In case enlargement of liver is detected, liver function tests need to be done to assess the function of liver.
Further management will depend on the ultrasound abdomen and liver function tests.
