What Causes Swelling And Hardening Of Pelvis After Having Sex?
Hi. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks on 12/31/14. I bled for about 10 days after my body evacuated my little one. I went to the doctor after the 10 days for an ultrasound and the U.S. showed slight thickening of the uterus. That night my hubby and I had comfort sex and now I m having symptoms of dizziness and swelling/hardening of my pelvis. What s going on? Should I see a doc?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. After miscarriage it is usual to have retained particles of conception which can cause further infections. So in case of your present symptoms it is better to consult a gynecologist to have pelvic examination and transvaginal ultrasound to rule out such problems. If that is positive then antibiotic therapy and dilation & curettage might be needed. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
