What Causes Swelling And Inflammation In The Lower Lip?
What causes a swollen lower lip and inflamed inner lining of lower lip? It s been going on for about a week now. Was misdiagnosed as Herpes Simplex 1 and medicated with Valtrex, but it is worse, not better. I have no history of cold sores and am not in a relationship. Stress can t be a factor because I have always had lots of stress. Am a thyroid cancer survivor and have autoimmune issues. Can this be a vitamin deficiency? Allergy? Canker sore? Help!
Yous symptoms are either related to some allergy of Vitamin B12 deficiency.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated.. It is not looking like canker sore as it presents in the form of ulcers on the lip.. As the lip is also swollen that is appearing to be Allergic Angioedema of the lip.. So for now you can take benadryl and do cool compresses over the lip. You can apply Lidocaine gel on the inner lining of lip to reduce pain and discomfort.. Take more or cool, bland and non irritant foods.. Once the cause will be ruled out then a specific treatment regimen will be given to you..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
