What Causes Swelling And Inflammation On The Toes?
Hi, thank you, I have a swollen red toe. it is the smallest toe on my leftt foot. I broke the toe about 6 years ago. I also broke my left wrist at the same time. The toe swelling never went down. About a year and 3/4 s ago it got red. I in the meantime have been diagnosised with spinal stenosis. I wear shoes which allow for the swelling(comfort)..The redness and swelling persist. I am getting slight infection issues with my left ear and eye..Got any Ideas..I went to my dr. and she blew me off--pretty much- I appreciate your consideration
We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, repeated toe inflammation needs an evaluation of uric acid levels and other inflammatory causes like autoimmune joint diseases etc and baseline autoimmune.
Work up may be needed. Also, easy fractures work up with calcium levels, D3, and alkaline phosphatase etc should be done along with bone scans.
Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used. Supplements for calcium,D3 and ossein mineral complexes can be started.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
