What Causes Swelling And Itching In Lower Leg?

Major blow to lower leg tendon and side of leg. Major bruses. Injury is better but still swelling and itching now 3 weeks out. I dropped a log on the side of my leg just below my knee it causes major swelling of the tendon just below my knee on the out side of leg. The whole calf brushed and the shin bone sore all the way down including ankle. How long does it take for this injury to stop causing edema upon standing?

Hi,

Post traumatic swelling might take few weeks for the reduction of swelling. Get admitted in hospital and have thorough investigations to have clear ideas about the morbidity. Antibiotics, antiinflammatory drugs, vitamin C, seropeptidases...etc may be considered. Complete bed rest and perfect treatment by surgeon are necessary to get early recovery.

Hope this helps.
