What Causes Swelling And Itching In The Hands?

My sister s hands have both swollen up like balloons. They are painful when she tries to touch anything. They burn and itch also. She went to the doctor who didn t know what was wrong. The doctor sent her to the emergency room. They did not know what was wrong and sent her home. What could be the problem?

it can be thrombophlebitis or cellulitis. get examined by surgeon for examination and diagnosis. give analgesic and if diagnosed as cellulitis may require systemic antibiotic like erythromycin 500mg daily for 5 days.take rest and avoid any weight bearing work by both hands.
