What Causes Swelling And Muscle Spasms Behind The Left Knee?

i got a charlie horse in the back of the knee, far left side of back of knee of left leg, now two days in there is swelling from the knee down, also i might add i got a sun burn that same day i got the charlie horse, sore, puffy swollen, and hurts to walk ,, pain in back of knee YYYY@YYYY

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The spasm or charlie horse would have cause minor trauma to the muscles involved which can be associated with swelling.

Sunburn is also a form of trauma.

You can consider the use of an oral anti inflammatory agent such as ibuprofen or naproxen or voltaren to see if one of these might help.
Rest and ice therapy may also be helpful as well.

If there is no improvement, then you should consider seeing someone for assessment.
