Hi,
Noted your short history about having pain and swelling on left side under
rib cage, drinks daily.
The commonest causes I can think about are one of the following:
Costochondritis is the common cause but easily missed by most. This is a condition in which there is inflammation of the cartilaginous part of the ribs, with edema of the surrounding tissues.
There will be pain on local pressure called tenderness.
Movements that involve stretching on lower ribs and muscles will increase pain.
Instigated and enhanced by stress, anxiety,
viral fever and so on.
Needs a proper treatment with oral anti-inflammatory medicines, oral
steroids helps further.
Avoid stress and anxiety.
Another causes can be local
myalgia, muscular stretch and so on.
Consult you Doctor, discuss these points, get investigated and get treated properly.
Drinking anyways is difficult to stop but can enhance the problems that you have.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
