What Causes Swelling And Pain In Foot After An Injury?

I ran into something on the lower part of my leg and since then the top of my inner foot is swelling and painful to touch. Not hot or red but afraid of any infection for I had a total knee 1 1/2 years ago. is it something I should see a doctor for or is it something that would go away?

Hi
An infection is less likely since no wound at the site of the injury. It is more likely a mechanical pain after the injury. An analgesic like Ibuprofen will help.
