What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Ankle After An Laser Surgery?

I had Laser surgery on both of my lower legs a year an half ago. I find that my legs are feeling heavy when I am on them a lot. My ankles have slight swelling. In the mornings it really hard to walk. My feet hurt real bad. Once I am up moving around they don t hurt as much. Could I have clots in my legs?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned but it unlikely that clots would occur in both legs.

It usually occurs in one leg.

It is true that clots can occur due to surgery but this can occur usually soon after the procedure.

You should consider ruling out other conditions such as arthritis (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid, lupus etc)
Blood tests and imaging would be needed.

I hope this helps
