5 days before from today i used earphones for many hours and also used dry ear buds and then i slept. The pillow was hard and was giving pressure and pain to my ears. When I woke up in morning my ears were warmer. In the evening they started to swell and gave pain. When i put my fingers in it i found that both ears have become more softer and swelled from inside . The pain is so much that now i can not open my mouth properly nor sleep properly. My brother who is doctor of lungs has advised me on phone to take otek ac eardrops , montair lc and augmentin 625mg The pain is still very much now . I got no relief in two days. What should I do now . I have also earlier got some ear infection but there was no such swelling and pain and it get cured by betnisol n and terramysin . my parents are not here right now. Should i go to ent or continue the medicine told by my brother . I got fever due to pain . 2 days before i put ear bud into my ears and found yellowish liquid. Please help me .
From your explanation, it looks like an infection in ears leading to inflammation and swelling. So my suggestion is to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated.
A clinical examination and Otoscopy can help in diagnosis. You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil.
Also if needed a short course of steroids can be advised to reduce swelling. Antibiotic ear drops can be advised along with oral medicine.
For now, avoid excessive water exposure to ears and sudden exposures to loud sounds.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
