What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Foot Despite A Normal X-ray Report?

Hi, I m a female aged 57. I have been having pain and swelling on top of foot for almost two weeks. The pain is located around my fourth toe on the top of my foot. Went to doctor and had xrays done but no breaks or fractures. I haven t injured my foot in any way. Any answers or opinions?

better to do thyriod test and kidney function test and take chest x ray to know the throid levels and urea creatine levels and to know cardiac manifestations
