Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was told that I have carpal tunnel. But my wrists don t hurt. My forearms re swollen and very painful. It is very painful to bend my elbow or squeee anything. I have had two steroid shots in both elbows no the pain is back within a week or so. Could this be cubits tunnel or possibly something completely different?
Hello there. I have read through your question and would like to tell you that you may be having an overuse injury either bursitis or tendonitis. As you said you were diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome , it can also be a cause of forearm pain. It can be diagnosed with a proper physical examination. An MRI and X Ray can be done for further evaluation. Meanwhile you can follow the following instructions 1. Apply ice pack 2. Give rest to the affected hand. 3. Take anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or naproxen to relieve pain. 4. Apply a crepe bandage to avoid excessive movements. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
