Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello- I was sleeping and I woke up at 4am on MOnday morning with blood on my right hand. There was a dried spot that looked the size of a small woodtick on my finger. I cleaned my hand and I did not find a bite or any redness so I went back to bed. I was fine all day Monday but today by hand is starting to look swollen, become sore, feeling like it fell asleep and uncomfortable. IT is starting to worry me, please help
The symptoms are suggestive of some insect bite reaction. The swelling might be due to inflammatory response to the bite. As of now you can take antihistamines like Pheneramine for symptomatic relief.
Apply Glycerine Magaulf ointments to reduce the swelling. If pain and swelling persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
